Trump blasts ‘ranting lunatic’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, won’t support her reelection

President Donald Trump publicly withdrew his endorsement of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Friday, ending a long-standing political alliance.

The break followed weeks of intensifying disagreements, culminating in a personal rebuke from the president and a forceful counterattack from the Georgia lawmaker.

In a social media statement, Trump said he was “pulling back” his support for Greene, adding “All I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!”

He accused her of drifting “far left” and joked that he no longer had time to take calls from “a ranting lunatic,” noting the demands of dealing with Congress, his Cabinet and foreign governments.

Earlier Friday, Trump defended his shuttle diplomacy with foreign leaders amid Greene’s criticism, suggesting that his relationships with world leaders have benefited her district.

The announcement came as Greene seeks reelection in 2026.

Greene fired back within hours, arguing that Trump was targeting her to deter Republicans from backing a push to release Justice Department documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

“He’s going after me to warn everyone else before next week’s vote on the Epstein files,” she wrote.

She later said she had received security alerts about threats against her, adding that Trump’s words had “stirred and encouraged” the hostility.

The president dismissed her criticism that he spends too much time abroad, saying his meetings with global leaders have benefited American industry, including workers in Georgia.

Traveling long distances, he added, is hardly his preference: “I’m in the US almost all the time.”

Trump also accused Greene of changing politically, saying voters in her district had already raised the possibility of backing a challenger. He signaled he would endorse a rival Republican.

Greene’s recent positions have placed her increasingly at odds with the White House and with many in her party. Sheh has diverged from most Republicans by describing Israel’s military actions in Gaza as “genocide.”

Her recent media appearances — including an interview with Bill Maher in which she revisited past conspiracy claims and said she once “didn’t know the Rothschilds were Jewish” — have contributed to growing unease among Republicans who once saw her as one of Trump’s most dependable allies.
