Iranian state TV airs AI-generated video depicting kidnapping of Netanyahu

It has long been the IRGC commander’s dream to capture and enslave the Israeli prime minister.

A provocative video that aired on Iranian state television depicted the fictional kidnapping of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, underscoring Iran’s use of psychological propaganda.

In Arabic and Hebrew, the video begins with a news report that Netanyahu was in an accident in Tel Aviv and has gone missing. Then it shows the brutal IRGC Commander Mojtaba Fada – portrayed as a loving family man – being called to regime headquarters to meet a surprise guest.

It has long been Fada’s dream to capture and enslave the Israeli leader. The video ends with the Israeli premier sitting helplessly, tied to a chair facing Fada, who stares menacingly at Netanyahu.

Fada has led the IRGC in Isfahan since July 2019. Under his command, his units have allegedly committed some of the most violent acts by Iranian security forces against protesters opposed to the Islamic regime.

Fada has blamed Israel and the US for instigating the protests. In November 2022, he stated at a funeral for security forces who were killed in clashes with anti-regime protesters, “The former prime minister of the Zionist regime announced that he hopes to travel to Tehran due to the recent disturbances [if widespread protests lead to the overthrow of the government], but God willing, the Islamic Republic will prevail and we will bring him to Iran with his hands tied and a [slave] collar around his neck after the defeat of the child-killing regime of Israel.”
