An armed terrorist was killed by Israeli special forces near Jenin in Samaria early on Thursday, after he opened fire toward the troops, the IDF reported.

The troops were carrying out a routine operational activity, as part of the IDF’s ongoing campaign against an active Hamas cell in Judea and Samaria.

Security personnel from the IDF, Border Police and Shin Bet operated tonight [between Wednesday and Thursday] in a number of locations in the area of the village of Burqin … in an operation aimed at arresting suspects and seizing weapons, as part of the ongoing campaign against Hamas in Judea and Samaria,” a statement by the IDF read.

The troops scanned the home of the terrorist involved in the shootout with IDF troops on Saturday that led to two injured soldiers.

During the operation, Palestinian rioters gathered in the area, when an armed terrorist opened fire toward the troops. He was shot and killed by Border Police soldiers, the IDF report noted.

No casualties to Israeli forces were reported.
