The creative El Al pilots sent their trusty aircraft off in style, forming an outline of the 747 over the Mediterranean Sea. El Al’s final 747 flight took place on Nov. 3, going from Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport back home to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport. The outline of the 747, made just to the west of Cyprus, won international attention due to its unique path and the pilots’ skill. Though the 747 is retiring, El Al plans on utilizing Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
