Elite IDF undercover unit receives citation

The IDF’s elite Duvedevan counter-terrorism unit will receive a special citation for its outstanding operations to fight Palestinian terrorism over the past year.

The IDF’s elite Duvdevan counter-terrorism unit has spearheaded efforts in Judea and Samaria to uproot Palestinian terrorism, especially during the recent 10-month-long wave of attacks.

The unit participated in hundreds of operations, in complex and challenging environments, and its members were cited for their courage, their engaging of the enemy and their creativity.

Duvedevan’s members sometimes disguise themselves as Palestinian rioters during clashes, before arresting ringleaders.

In related news, the IDF says its counter-terror efforts have lead to a 30 percent decrease in terror attacks in the past five months.

The IDF has considerably bolstered its counter-terror strategy by stepping up weapons seizures, shutting down weapons manufacturing facilities and thwarting smuggling attempts.

In total, 27 weapon manufacturing machines and over 235 guns have been seized.

In the past week alone, Israeli security forces seized six machines used to manufacture guns in Shechem (Nablus) and Ramallah.

The IDF and Israeli security forces also arrested last week a major illegal weapons dealer and Palestinian security official, Mahayub Borhan Rashad Knaza.
