Israelis are told: Stay out of North Korea!

Israel’s foreign ministry issued an advisory calling on Israelis to refrain from travelling to North Korea.

Israel’s foreign ministry on Wednesday issued an advisory calling on Israelis to refrain from travelling to North Korea, amid mounting tension between the dictatorship, the US and other countries in the region.

The statement reminded Israelis of the international sanctions on the country, which forbids all forms of business.

The foreign ministry also clarified that due to the lack of Israeli diplomatic relations with North Korea and no representation in the country, Israel will not be able to help its citizens if they encounter peril while in the country.

Ultimately, the decision to visit North Korea is personal and is the traveler’s responsibility, the ministry said.

There are currently only a few dozen Israeli tourists in the country.

In the latest escalation, North Korea launched a failed missile test, while Washington declared that it is considering all options to counter Pyongyang, including the military option.
