Israeli injured in stabbing attack near Jerusalem

A 30-year-old Israeli was lightly injured in a stabbing attack just outside Jerusalem on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the motive behind a Tuesday stabbing attack at the entrance of Beit Jala near Har Gilo, on the outskirts of Jerusalem, has not yet been established.

Investigations are underway to determine whether it was a terror attack or a criminally motivated incident.

Following the incident, the assailant fled the scene. Border Police and IDF forces are conducting a manhunt in the area in a bid to find the stabber.

According to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, the victim sustained several stab wounds including to his face, but was conscious and in light condition.

Less than a week ago, a Palestinian terrorist snuck into a Jerusalem police station and wounded four police officers.

According to police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, the terrorist scaled the station’s fence and embarked on a stabbing spree.

Other officers neutralized the assailant, who was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
