Shira Ish-Ran, who was shot and critically wounded last week in a Palestinian terror attack near Ofra, remains in serious condition, Shaare Zedek Medical Center clarified Monday.

Ish-Ran and her husband Amichai, who was also wounded in the attack, gave an optimistic press conference on Sunday, leading some to speculate that her condition had significantly improved.

However, she requires more surgery and faces a prolonged recuperation and rehabilitation process, the hospital said.

The public was asked to continue praying for her full recovery.

Ish-Ran was 30 weeks pregnant when shot in the abdomen. Her baby boy was delivered immediately by C-section and survived for only four days. He was given the name Amiad Yisrael, which means “my eternal nation” in Hebrew.
