Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot met with high-ranking officers on the Golan Heights Wednesday to assess the security situation on Israel’s northern border. Syria’s offensive in Daraa, in the south of Syria, aimed at eradicating Sunni rebel forces, has escalated the tensions and created a humanitarian crisis for tens of thousands of civilians.
