Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley is still involved in politics, albeit in a different way.
Haley, 47, who resigned from her post at the conclusion of 2018, on Monday launched Stand for America, an advocacy organization geared to “public policies that strengthen America’s economy, culture and national security.”
One of the group’s goals is to combat socialism, which has been gaining popularity in the Democratic party, promoted by Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The organization aims to make an impact not only in the U.S., but worldwide.
“We have seen true evil across the globe,” according to Stand for America’s website. “We will never stop fighting for what makes America great. But we must do it together.”
“Stand for America is committed to stopping dangers from abroad and protecting the American people’s security, interests and values,” it states, describing Iran as one of the major threats to the U.S. and the “source of Middle East problems.”
“At the other end of the spectrum in the Middle East, is one of America’s greatest friends, Israel,” the site continues. “Jerusalem has always been Israel’s capital. President [Donald] Trump was right to officially recognize that fact, and to move our embassy to Jerusalem. Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East, and its shared values with America run very deep.
“The American people stand with the people of Israel in their fight for peace and security, and we stand strongly against the outrageous bias pushed against Israel at the United Nations and other international organizations.”
