He was killed by police who shot him multiple times in an effort to stop the carnage.The Huffington Post reports that he was described by relatives and acquaintances as a loner who became depressed after his wife left him. Neighbors said he appeared to be “aggressive and unstable.”His wife’s cousin Walid Hamou told the online Daily Mail: “Bouhlel was not religious. He did not go to the mosque, he did not pray, he did not observe Ramadan. He drank alcohol, ate pork and took drugs.
