A 10-year-old victim of anti-Semitism in Paris will spend over a week in hospital after being beaten several days in a row at school.
In what was reported as an anti-Semitic incident, a 10-year-old girl in Paris has been hospitalized for injuries to the abdomen and ribs after being beaten over several days by classmates.
According to the National Bureau for Vigilance Against Antisemitism (BNVCA), the child’s mother said that her daughter, who was attending school in Paris’ 18th arrondissement, was verbally and physically assaulted for several consecutive days because she is Jewish.
The child, who provided statements to the police on the anti-Semitic insults and beatings, will remain in hospital for 10 days due to the severe injuries.
The mother blames the school for not dealing properly with the bullies and failing to protect her child.
The Local Education Authority in Paris said it takes the issue seriously and will transfer the girl to a school of her choice.
Anti-Semitic hate crimes and deadly Islamic terror attacks have spiked in France over recent years., and aliyah – immigration to Israel – has increased dramatically. In 2015, almost 8,000 French Jews left their native country for the Jewish state.
