Palestinian terrorists fire rocket at Sderot

Since Operation Protective Edge in the summer of 2014, there have been multiple rockets attacks from Gaza, and over 40 rockets have exploded in Israeli territory, four of them in Sderot.

Palestinian terrorists fired a rocket from Gaza at Israel’s civilian population on Wednesday, which exploded in the city of Sderot.

No one was injured in the attack, but several people were treated for shock. The rocket exploded in a road, missing residential homes and a school by a few feet and causing damage to nearby cars.

The IDF responded by shelling terrorist positions in the Gaza Strip. Hamas has reportedly evacuated its posts ahead of further pending IDF attacks.

The last attack on Sderot, a city of some 24,000 residents, occurred in late August. In July, Palestinian terrorists fired a rocket which hit a children’s daycare center that was vacated at the time. The building was damaged, but no one was injured in the attack. Four people were treated for shock.

A group affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) terror organization, the Omar Hadid Brigades, has claimed responsibility for previous attacks.
