An Israeli was moderately wounded early Wednesday morning after two Palestinian terrorists invaded his home in the Israeli community of Eli in Samaria and attacked him with a knife and clubs.

The terrorists ambushed the man as he exited his home at about 5:30 AM and forced their way in. He fought back and managed to push them back out, but sustained blows to his head and stab wounds to his upper body.

The terrorists fled and hid in a nearby public building.

Security forces arrived on scene shortly after and launched a manhunt for the terrorists, who were located and shot dead after they attempted to attack the soldiers.

“Due to the significant threat to the people of the community, forces shot the attackers, resulting in their death,” the IDF said in a statement.

The victim, Roi Harel, in his 30s, was taken to Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem for treatment with wounds to his upper body and head.

Searching forces later uncovered an improvised handgun, apparently hidden away, ready for the terrorists’ use.

Initial reports indicate that the terrorists smashed windows of parked cars to draw out residents, potential targets, from their homes, but after no one emerged, they ambushed the victim at the entrance to his home.

Residents of the neighborhood said that the victim’s family was miraculously saved from a disastrous fate thanks to his resourcefulness, according to TPS.

This incident was the latest in a long series of almost daily Palestinian terrorist attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of the past six months, claiming the lives of 32 victims and wounding over 360 in hundreds of attacks.
