Alon Ohel recounted being touched against his will by a Hamas guard in the shower.

An Israeli man held hostage by the Hamas terror group for two years described his ordeal in a TV interview aired Monday evening, revealing that he was sexually harassed by one of his captors and forced to undergo medical treatment without anesthesia.

Alon Ohel, 24, was kidnapped from the Nova Music Festival on October 7, 2023. He sustained serious injuries during the abduction, including partial loss of vision in his left eye. Speaking publicly for the first time to Channel 12 News since his release in an October 2025 Trump-brokered ceasefire deal, Ohel detailed the abuse he endured in captivity.

He recounted that one terrorist burst into the shower while he was bathing. Claiming he wanted to help Ohel shower properly to avoid rashes and skin infections, the captor touched his naked body without consent. “Luckily, the sexual abuse didn’t go further,” Ohel told Channel 12.

Ohel also described what happened immediately after he was dragged into Gaza, insisting there is “no such thing” as an innocent civilian in the Strip. He recalled crowds gathering to celebrate his abduction and said that “everyone” in Gaza is “involved” in terror. Other freed hostages have recalled similar experiences, describing being beaten by children, women, and elderly Gazans who were “overjoyed” to harm a Jewish Israeli.

He described receiving medical treatment without proper anesthesia, including being stitched up by a captor who handled him in a “degrading” manner and forbade him to cry out in pain.

“Whoever was not there will not be able to understand our [time in] captivity,” Ohel told Channel 12.

“In your life, you have not experienced starvation, you have not been connected to chains for a year and a half – shackled like a monkey and eating like a dog. You are not a human being; you are an animal,” he said.
