After appearing on the Sara Carter Show on August 4, former Miss Iraq Sarah Idan found herself in a Twitter war with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn).

Idan said on the show that “Ilhan Omar does not represent me as a Muslim — does not represent millions of Muslims in the Middle East.”

She said that in Muslim countries, “we call her the Muslim Brotherhood.”

“They are extremist Muslims, Sunni Muslims, who are now working together with Iran against all the Arab countries,” she said.

“They’re working now with Hezbollah, with Turkey, with all that. You know, the thing is about this organization they are extremist Muslims, they’re jihadis, and they have this ideology that they want to control the world.”

Omar became aware of the podcast and posted a tweet on August 8 with a link to the show and the comment: “Hey, I might be wrong but I don’t think you are a #MN05 resident and like that makes be not your representative.”

“Seriously @IlhanMN this is your intellectual come back?” Idan replied on Twitter.

“I said as a MUSLIM! I don’t stand for your anti-American, antisemitic, Muslim Brotherhood agenda, using this democracy to further YOUR & YOUR FRIENDS Islamic socialism goals of dividing & weakening our country.”

Idan, who is staunchly pro-Israel, appeared on i24NEWS on August 10. She said that Omar is part of an effort to make Islam the “ruling system in the country.”

“In her statements all the time she says, ‘I speak for every Muslim in this country.’ And I think with that statement she makes a lot of us angry, who escaped Sharia, who are trying to push for moderate Islam,” Idan said.

Idan was forced to flee Iraq after posting a selfie with Miss Israel in 2017. Iraq recently threatened to revoke her citizenship. She is currently living in the U.S.
