By: Margot Dudkevitch, World Israel NewsNegotiations are reportedly underway between Mossad head Yossi Cohen and Jordanian officials in Amman, with the aim of reinstating an Israeli Ambassador to Jordan. The negotiations, as reported by Ynet, arrive some four months after an incident in which a Jordanian teenager reportedly stabbed an Israeli security guard with a screwdriver in the Embassy compound. The guard shot and killed his attacker and stray bullets fatally hit the Jordanian landlord.Following the incident, the security guard and Israeli Ambassador to Jordan, Einat Schlein, returned to Israel, in what developed into a series of events that severely hampered diplomatic ties between the Jewish State and the Hashemite Kingdom.A photograph of the security guard and Israeli Ambassador Schlein meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his office following their return fueled an already tense situation, and it was announced that Schlein would not return to Jordan. In an effort to appease the Jordanian government and restore ties between the two countries, Israel is expected to express regret over the death of the landlord and pay compensation to his family, reported Ynet.
