Israeli forces early Tuesday morning demolished the home of a Palestinian terrorist who was a member of a Hamas terror cell that murdered an Israeli couple in front of their four children in October.

The IDF said in a statement that, acting in accordance with directives by Minister of Defense Moshe Ya’alon, it destroyed and sealed the home of Zid Ziad Jameel Amar in Shechem (Nablus).

Palestinians began to riot during the operation and threw rocks and bottles at the forces. No Israelis were injured.

Amar and other Hamas terrorists ambushed Rabbi Eitam and Na’ama Henkin who were driving home from a holiday event with their four children. The terrorists murdered both parents and then fled the scene. The children were left unharmed.

The cell members were subsequently captured by Israeli security forces.

In December, the IDF destroyed the home of Rajab Ahmed Mohammed Aliwa, who commanded the Hamas cell and planned the attack.

The demolition of terrorists’ homes are meant to serve as deterrence for potential terrorists who are plotting future attacks and are part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plans to contend with the recent wave of Palestinian terror attacks, which has claimed the lives of 33 victims in the past seven months.
