4 Hamas terrorists ambush IDF soldiers in latest Gaza ceasefire violation

IDF forces kill four Hamas terrorists who emerged from tunnel in Rafah, ambushing soldiers in yet another violation of the fragile Gaza truce.

Hamas terrorists concealed in a tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip ambushed a group of soldiers from the IDF’s 7th Brigade on patrol Monday morning, the Israeli military announced, marking the latest violation by Hamas of the fragile Gaza ceasefire.

According to an IDF spokesperson, the four terrorists emerged from a hidden tunnel shaft in eastern Rafah.

After the terrorists opened fire, Israeli forces shot back and killed all four.

Video footage from the incident shows an IDF helicopter taking part in the battle with the terrorists.

Israeli forces are now conducting searches of the area, including in the tunnel network used by the terrorists.

The IDF decried the ambush, calling it a “blatant violation” of the October Gaza truce.

“This constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, which the IDF views with great severity.
IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat,” the IDF spokesperson’s office said.

Shortly afterward, Lebanese media outlets reported that Israeli forces carried out an airstrike on a car in the town of Yanouh, near Tyre, in southern Lebanon.

The IDF confirmed the airstrike in a statement, announcing that a targeted strike against a member of the Hezbollah terror organization had been carried out.

According to media outlets in Lebanon, three people were killed in the attack, including Ahmed Salame, who appears to have been the target.

Salame was reportedly a member of the Lebanese military.

Hours earlier, IDF special forces conducted a clandestine operation in southern Lebanon, capturing a senior commander from a Sunni terrorist group with links to both Hezbollah and Hamas.
