Two Palestinian terrorists who attempted to stab Israelis at the Tapuach Junction in Samaria on Tuesday were shot and wounded by Border Police securing the area.

No Israelis were harmed in the attack.

A border police officer at an observation point noticed two suspects approaching a bus station at the Junction, a Border Police statement said. The suspects ignored orders to halt.

“At that point, one of the suspects drew a knife and rushed toward the soldiers,” the statement read.

The officers responded by firing at the assailants’ legs, thereby neutralizing them. Both received first aid at the scene and were evacuated to a hospital for further treatment.

The terrorists were arrested and will be questioned by Israeli security forces.

Tapuach Junction has been the site of multiple Palestinian terror attacks.

In related news, Israeli forces carried out counter-terror operations on Monday night throughout Judea and Samaria, arresting eight Palestinians wanted in connection with terrorism.

IDF forces also uncovered an M-16 assault rifle during an operation to thwart an illegal weapons sale in Hebron.
