Report: Israel signals to Iran it is ready to end war in coming days

Israel is reportedly signalling to Iran that its air campaign against Tehran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs is nearing completion, with overtures for renewed nuclear talks.

The IDF is planning on wrapping up its air campaign against Iran in the next few days, according to a report on Monday, prompting Israel to signal to Iran its willingness to restart indirect negotiations aimed at reaching an agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program.

The Wall Street Journal daily cited Israeli and Arab officials who said that Israel is eyeing an end to the ongoing war with Iran.

A report published by Israel’s Channel 12 TV outlet on Monday claimed that Israeli officials expect Operation Rising Lion to complete its primary goals – the destruction of Iran’s uranium enrichment capacity and its ballistic missile program – in the next few days.

Once those two goals have been achieved, the report said, Israel will seek a swift end to the conflict, which has seen over 500 ballistic missiles launched from Iran, alongside hundreds of suicide drones, killing 24 people and injuring over 1,200.

The Trump administration has told Arab officials cited by the Journal that Israel is already looking to lay the groundwork for an end to the hostilities, requesting that a message be conveyed to Iran calling for a mutual end to the attacks that have ravaged both countries for the past 11 days.

In addition, Israel is said to be pushing for Iran to resume nuclear talks with Western powers and agree to abandon its efforts to enrich uranium.

But Iran has thus far rebuffed Israel’s overtures, the Journal reported. Officials cited in the report said the Islamic Republic feels compelled to retaliate following the US airstrikes on Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan over the weekend.

“It depends on Iran, not on us,” one Israeli official told The Times of Israel on Sunday.
