The footage, circulated on social media, shows several Muslim men near a mosque shouting anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian slogans before making the threat.“The Jews, you’re going to get beheaded one by one, you dirty Jews,” one man said in the video. He also shouted: “F**k Israel, big up Palestine, from the river to the sea.”Police said they were working to identify the suspect.“We are aware of this video, which was reported to police earlier on Friday afternoon,” a Metropolitan Police spokesman said. “Officers have attended the scene and are carrying out urgent inquiries to identify the man involved.”“We understand that incidents like this cause significant concern and we take all reports incredibly seriously,” the spokesman added. “Hate crime of any kind has no place in our communities.”Read WATCH: Lithuanian antisemite spits on visiting rabbisThe Jewish neighborhood watch group Shomrim London North & East said it was aware of the video and was working with police. The group described the footage as “horrific” and said the Orthodox Jewish community was “exceptionally concerned about these threats.”The threat came during a period of heightened anxiety among British Jews following a series of attacks in London. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley told lawmakers this week that “British Jews are not currently safe in their capital city,” citing what he called a “sustained period of attack” on the community.Rowley said counterterrorism officers were leading 11 investigations connected to recent incidents, including arson attacks and the April 29 stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green. Police have made 35 arrests in those investigations, with 10 people charged, he said.Earlier this month, the Met announced a new community protection team for Jewish Londoners. The force said the unit would initially include 100 additional officers and combine neighborhood policing with specialist protection and counterterrorism capabilities. AntisemitismBritainLondon
