Iran ‘completely ready’ to restart nuclear program

Iran has “succeeded to make operational the most advanced centrifuges,” according to Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the Islamic Republic is fully prepared to revert to nuclear enrichment levels before its signing of the nuclear agreement with the P5+1 powers (US, UK, Germany, France, Russia and China) during the summer of 2015.

“If the US creates a situation that continuation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) would damage Tehran’s national interest, then Iran is completely ready to come back to the situation it had prior to the JCPOA even more powerful than before,” Zarif was quoted by the semi-official Fars news agency as having told reporters in the Central city of Isfahan on Monday.

“During the past couple of months, with the efforts made by the skilled Iranian scientists and experts, we have succeeded to make operational the most advanced centrifuges that were just an idea at the time of approving the JCPOA,” Zarif added.

Zarif’s most recent remarks regarding Iran’s compliance with the JCPOA follow recent warnings from President Donald Trump’s administration that has put “Iran on notice” for its aggressive behavior in the region and its apparent disregard for UN Resolution 2231, which endorsed the Iran nuclear agreement.
