The IDF did not strike back. By: Aryeh Savir, World Israel NewsA projectile was fired from Syria into Israeli territory in the Golan Heights on Sunday.No injuries or damage were reported, and the projectile, which exploded in an open space, did not set off the alarm system.The projectile is most likely stray fire from internal fighting in Syria, the IDF stated. The IDF did not respond to this incident. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), said that the Druze town of Hadr, which is situated adjacent to the Israeli border and is currently controlled by the Assad regime’s forces, was targeted over the weekend by rebel and Islamic factions. Assad’s troops responded by shelling the factions in the vicinity of the town.The SOHR has no information about casualties.On Monday, sirens in the area went off, but the IDF stated that it was a false alarm.Israel has mostly stayed on the sidelines throughout the Syrian civil war.
