Three rockets from Gaza were launched at Israel as Red Alert sirens sounded in the Ashkelon coastal region on Wednesday afternoon. In response to the projectiles, an IDF tank struck two Hamas military posts in the northern Gaza Strip.

One of the missiles struck a courtyard of a house. No injuries were reported.

Another missile was identified in an open field.

Israeli children were in school at the time of the attack. They’re classrooms are reinforced against rockets.

The rocket attack follows another on Tuesday evening. Two of those rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile system.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was giving a campaign speech in the city of Ashdod during the Tuesday evening attack, was forced to evacuate in the middle of his speech.

IDF fighter jets struck 15 terror targets in the northern and central Gaza Strip in the early hours of Wednesday morning following that rocket attack.

The targets included a military weapons manufacturing site, several targets in a naval force military compound and an offensive terror tunnel belonging to the Hamas terror organization.

“The IDF will continue operating against attempts to harm Israeli civilians, and holds the Hamas terror organization accountable for events transpiring in the Gaza Strip and emanating from it,” the Israeli Army said.
