Trump to Iran: Try to kill me and we’ll ‘completely decimate and destroy’ your country

Trump issued an extraordinary warning to Tehran, declaring that 1,000 American missiles are already aimed at Iran in case the regime attempts to kill him.

U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran, declaring that the American military is prepared to unleash overwhelming force if Tehran attempts to assassinate him.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that “1,000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded” and aimed at Iran, with thousands more ready to follow if the Islamic Republic acts on its threats against his life.

Trump said the military orders will remain in effect for one year and can be extended if necessary.

“The United States Armed Forces will completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran that we can reach. There will be nothing left,” he wrote.

Trump’s warning followed renewed reports that Iranian officials have discussed targeting him. The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel recently shared intelligence with the United States concerning Iranian conversations about a possible assassination attempt.

However, American officials said the information involved general discussions rather than evidence of a specific operational plot.

Trump rejected reports that Israel had uncovered a new assassination plan, saying Jerusalem had not provided him with any such specific intelligence. He added that he has long been Iran’s top target.

Iran has repeatedly threatened to kill Trump in retaliation for the 2020 U.S. drone strike that eliminated Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force.

Soleimani directed Iranian military operations and terrorist proxies across the Middle East and was blamed for the deaths of hundreds of American service members.

Iranian threats against Trump have continued in recent years. In 2024, U.S. prosecutors charged an Iranian operative in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate him.

Trump said he has made clear how the United States should respond if Iran succeeds in harming him, warning that the regime would face destruction on a scale it has never experienced.

The warning comes as Washington and Tehran remain locked in a tense confrontation over Iran’s nuclear program, its support for regional terrorist groups and its repeated threats against American and Israeli leaders.

Although Trump has said he remains willing to negotiate with Tehran, his latest statement left little doubt that an attempt on his life would cross a red line and trigger a devastating American response.
