Michael Kurilla according to the statement.Two U.S. Navy vessels, the British Royal Navy’s HMS Lancaster and several other ships responded to the incident.The oil tanker belonged to Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping, a company owned by Israeli billionaire Idan Ofer.Iran has targeted numerous ships in recent years, including, in July 2021, the Mercer Street, an oil tanker with connections to Idan Ofer’s brother, Eyal.
