A terror attack of a large magnitude was thwarted in the coastal city of Ra’anana Tuesday when heroic citizens nearby saved an Israeli victim from his Palestinian attacker.

A Palestinian terrorist began stabbing an Israeli citizen on Ra’anana’s Ahuza Street, the city’s crowded main route and the site of the city hall, as he was waiting for a bus. The victim was lightly wounded in the chest and neck.

The terrorist was quickly overpowered by caring citizens, and was seriously injured in the scuffle. A bus driver who saw that attack told Israel’s IDF Radio he was carrying an umbrella and used it to subdue the terrorist.

The victim, 32, was treated on site by medics and evacuated to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba.

The terrorist was identified as a 22-year-old Palestinian from Jerusalem. He reportedly retains Israeli citizenship.

An hour later, a Palestinian terrorist stabbed four Israelis and wounded them at the same site as the previous attack. One victim was seriously wounded. An Israeli motorist who witnessed the attack rammed his car into the terrorist, thus neutralizing him. The terrorist was seriously wounded. He too retains Israeli citizenship.
