Abbas’s Hypocrisy Continues as Fatah Praises Killers

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah movement continues to glorify killers of Israelis as “heroes” and “martyrs.” Following is a report from Palestinian Media Watch, an Israeli research institute that monitors Palestinian society.

On Jan. 17, 2002, terrorist Abd Al-Salam Hassouna shot and killed six and wounded dozens at a Bat Mitzvah celebration in Hadera, near Haifa. Anticipating the anniversary of this “heroic operation” and the killer’s “Martyrdom-death,” Fatah posted a photo of the murderer holding a rifle and praised him and other “Martyrs” as “torches on the path to victory and freedom,” saying:

“With an M16 he opened fire on many Zionists, killed nine and injured dozens, until his rifle jammed. Our Martyrs are torches on the path to victory and freedom.” [Facebook, “Fatah – the Main Page,” Jan. 15, 2015]

This is yet another example of Abbas’ terror-hypocrisy, exposed by Palestinian Media Watch. Last week, PMW reported that while Abbas condemned the killings of civilians in Paris, his Fatah movement glorified five terrorists who killed 10 Israelis and terrorist Dalal Mughrabi who led the killing of 37 civilians.

Fatah also glorified another terrorist who shot and killed two and wounded dozens on Jan. 22, 2002. Abbas’s movement uploaded a poster of terrorist Sa’id Ibrahim Ramadan (possibly from 2002), on which Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades expressed their “utmost pride” accompanying “the brave lion” in his wedding procession – a reference to the Islamic belief that the “Martyr” marries 72 virgins in Heaven:
