IDF forces carried out counterterrorism operations throughout Judea and Samaria on Sunday night, during which they uncovered explosive charges, seized illegal weapons and arrested terror suspects.

Border policemen uncovered four pipe bombs and battle gear in the Arab village of Barta’a, in the north. The discovery was the result of prior intelligence work, the police stated.

The explosive charges were neutralized by sappers on site.

Forces carrying sweeps in the Benyamin and Etzion areas also seized three illegal assault weapons.

Since the beginning of 2017, Israeli forces have seized over 220 firearms and have shut down some 35 illegal Palestinian weapons production plants.

Tens of Palestinian terror attacks have been committed using firearms, many of them self-made.

Israeli forces have arrested more than 160 suspects tied to the production and selling of illegal weapons, used in many cases against Israeli civilians.

Similarly, forces arrested 21 Palestinian suspects wanted for acts of terrorism. They were turned over to the Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency) for questioning.
