A Palestinian terrorist stabbed and lightly wounded an Israeli security guard during a terror attack early Wednesday morning at Carmei Tzur, in Gush Etzion.

The terrorist arrived by vehicle to the entrance to the community, quickly exited the car and proceeded to stab a security guard.

A second security guard present shot the terrorist and killed him.

The victim, 36, sustained light wounds to his hand. He was evacuated to Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Hospital  for further treatment.

The officer in charge of security at Carmei Tzur praised the guards’ quick and professional response, which prevented lethal attack.

This attack comes just days after a terrorist stabbed and murdered Rabbi Itamar Ben Gal and the entrance to the city of Ariel in Samaria.

Palestinian officials identified the terrorist as Hamzeh Youssif Zamaareh, 19.

IDF forces raided his home in the nearby Palestinian town of Halhul later in the morning. His family was questioned by Israeli security officials.

Hundreds of Palestinians rioted as the forces entered the town. The forces responded with crowd dispersal means. No injuries were reported.

Shlomo Ne’eman, head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council and a resident of Carmie Tzur, stated that attempts to kill Jews will “not hinder the building and growth of our country.”

“The campaign for the land continues, and will continue with building and growth on the path to full sovereignty over the homeland,” he stated.
