Tel Aviv school educators arrested on abuse charges

An extensive investigation spanning a number of years and numerous individuals, has finally resulted in the arrest of five teachers and a principal from Tel Aviv on multiple charges of alleged sexual assault and abuse.

Israel’s police on Monday arrested five teachers and a principal who worked at an Ultra-Orthodox educational institution in Tel Aviv on multiple charges of alleged sexual assault and abuse of the school’s students.

Police said that the educators committed the offenses against children aged 6-7 between the years 2005-2010.

The arrests were conducted after an extensive investigation, which included collecting testimony from the victims, their parents, psychologists and other officials.

The police revealed that a separate investigation into possible abuse allegations had been launched several years ago, but had not been fully pursued.

The suspects will be brought before a judge on Tuesday for their remanding.
