The president took to social media Monday night, following the broadcast of Fox News‘ interview with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. In the interview, Araghchi acknowledged that Iran’s nuclear program was heavily damaged in the June 22 airstrikes, forcing a halt to uranium enrichment operations. “It is stopped because, yes, damages are serious and severe,” Araghchi said. And now, more than that, it is a question of national pride,” Araghchi continued. “Our enrichment is so dear to us.” Writing on his Truth Social account, Trump boasted that the Iranian foreign minister’s comments confirmed his repeated claims that the B-2 bomber strikes “obliterated” Iran’s three most important nuclear facilities. “Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, on the Iran Nuclear Sites: ‘Damages are very severe, they are destroyed.’ “Of course they are, just like I said.” Read Kushner behind US pressure on Israel to accept partial Gaza pullout without full Hamas disarmament – reportIn a veiled response to Araghchi’s vow that Iran would rebuild its nuclear program and resume uranium enrichment, Trump said he would order additional airstrikes “if necessary” against Iranian nuclear sites. “We will do it again, if necessary!
