Israel receives body of fallen hostage from Gaza

The government and military remain fully committed to returning every hostage home.

Earlier Tuesday, Israel received the body of a deceased hostage who had been held in Gaza, marking another step in the ongoing effort to recover those captured by Hamas.

The transfer was coordinated through the Red Cross and escorted by IDF troops, and the coffin has now arrived at the National Institute for Forensic Medicine for formal identification. Family members are being accompanied by IDF representatives throughout the process.

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the transfer, stating: “The coffin of the fallen hostage, currently accompanied by IDF troops, crossed into Israel and is on its way to the National Institute for Forensic Medicine, where the identification process will be carried out. IDF representatives are accompanying the family members. All families of fallen hostages have been informed. The government and military remain fully committed to returning every hostage home. The public is asked to act with sensitivity and await the official identification, which will first be provided to the families.”

The IDF also stressed the importance of respecting the families’ privacy and refraining from spreading rumors or unverified information.
