Four bodies recovered after Iranian missile strikes Haifa building

Four bodies were recovered from the rubble of a residential building in Haifa, on Monday morning, after an overnight search following an Iranian ballistic missile strike, Israeli rescue services said.

Fire and Rescue officials said the victims were found “without signs of life” after hours of complex rescue operations that stretched through the night.

“After complex efforts that lasted all night and into the early morning hours, teams rescued four trapped individuals who were found lifeless under the rubble,” the service said in a statement.

The building, a seven-story structure in the northern coastal city, sustained heavy damage in a direct hit late Sunday, triggering a fire and raising fears of collapse.

Rescue teams, including specialized national units and military Home Front Command forces, used cranes, engineering equipment, and advanced technology such as mobile phone tracking to locate those trapped.

Authorities said the victims were among four individuals unaccounted for after the strike, reportedly including members of the same family and a foreign worker.

Explosive ordnance experts were also working at the scene amid concerns that part of the missile’s warhead may not have detonated.

“We are neutralizing the explosive as if it were surgical work,” one specialist said.

Emergency responders said several others were injured in the blast, including an elderly man in serious condition and multiple people with lighter injuries.

The Israeli military said air defenses attempted to intercept the missile and that the incident remains under investigation.
