Sen. Tom Cotton, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, became the latest GOP heavyweight to break ranks, warning the deal could funnel up to $6 billion a month to what he called a “revolutionary terrorist regime.” Cotton cautioned the money would be used to rebuild Iran’s missiles and drones and bankroll Hamas and Hezbollah, while urging Trump to restore military pressure if Tehran violates the agreement.Cotton joins a growing bipartisan chorus that includes Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, and Bill Cassidy, all warning the deal rewards Iran with sanctions relief and economic aid while leaving its missile program, nuclear infrastructure, and terrorist proxies largely intact.
