Israel hammered Hamas military positions as fighting in the Gaza Strip continued. The Israel Defense Forces said on Wednesday morning it struck 200 terror targets over the past 24 hours.

In northern Gaza’s Shejaiya area, soldiers identified terrorists passing between buildings in a Hamas combat area from which shots were fired at the troops. The soldiers directed an airstrike, killing the terror squad. The strike triggered secondary explosions. According to the IDF, the secondary explosions indicated that the area was rigged with explosives aimed at attacking the troops.

Soldiers also directed an airstrike on a Hamas compound that had a weapons storage facility.

In the Daraj Tuffah area of northern Gaza, soldiers directed tank fire on a terrorist who was preparing to fire a short-range anti-tank rocket at them.

Overnight, Israeli Navy forces identified suspects in a compound who posed a threat to the ground forces and struck them. Naval forces struck additional Hamas targets along the Gaza coast to assist ground forces.

At least 1,200 people were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on Oct. 7. The number of men, women, children, soldiers, and foreigners held captive in Gaza by Hamas is now believed to be 129. Other people remain unaccounted for as Israeli authorities continue to identify bodies and search for human remains.
