Murad Bader Abdullah Adais, 16, who stabbed and murdered Dafna Meir at the entrance to her house in Otniel last January was sentenced to life in prison by a military court on Wednesday. He was also fined NIS 1.75 M in damages.

In their ruling, the judges emphasized the unusual brutality and cold-bloodedness in which the terrorist committed his act, and recommended that he not be released in the future under any circumstance, a rare recommendation on their part.

Meir, 38 and a mother of six, was stabbed to death by the terrorist at the entrance to her home.

Her daughter, who witnessed the murder, said the terrorist fled after murdering her mother because he could not extract the knife from her and continue with his murderous attack.

The terrorist was captured by Israeli forces a few days after the attack.

During his investigation, Adais said had been influenced by Palestinian TV programs that incited terror, telling viewers that Israelis are “killing Palestinian young people.”

After committing the murder, Adais went home and watched a movie. His father told Palestinian media that he admired his son’s act of terror, saying, “I am proud of him.”
