Jewish women whipped, Jewish child beaten in spate of antisemitic attacks

London police arrest man after string of antisemitic assaults; female suspect arrested in a separate incident involving an attack on a Jewish boy outside school.

A man has been charged after he whipped several visibly Orthodox Jewish women with a belt at a bus stop in Stamford Hill in one of two antisemitic incidents reported in the north London area on Sunday.

The assault took place Sunday afternoon at Clapton Common, according to Shomrim, the Jewish neighborhood watch group.

The group said the suspect attacked multiple women, shouted a “torrent of horrible racial abuse” and spat at a Shomrim volunteer.

“[Our] volunteers responded within a couple of minutes and detained the suspect. He was subsequently arrested by [the Metropolitan Police] for racially aggravated public order offenses and assault,” Shomrim said on X.

The group later said the “[suspect] has been charged with five offenses and was remanded to appear in court,” adding, “We appeal for any further witnesses and victims to come forward.”

Hours later, in a separate incident, a Jewish child was punched outside his school in nearby Amhurst Park.

Shomrim said the female suspect shouted “antisemitic abuse” during the assault and was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault.

The incidents came days after two men were convicted for traveling to Stamford Hill to film themselves abusing Jewish people for TikTok. Adam Bedoui, 20, and Abdelkader Bousloub, 21, pleaded guilty to a religiously aggravated public order offense at Thames Magistrates’ Court, according to police and prosecutors.

In another recent case, a man was charged after allegedly threatening Jewish passengers, including children, on a bus passing through Stamford Hill. Witnesses said the suspect shouted antisemitic abuse, including, “Shame Hitler didn’t kill you.”

Stamford Hill is home to one of Europe’s largest Orthodox Jewish communities and has seen repeated antisemitic attacks in recent years. In December 2024, two teenage girls were sentenced for what prosecutors called an “antisemitic rampage” targeting Jewish women and girls in the area.
