Decorated policeman, 60-year-old woman murdered in Jerusalem terror attack

The two victims of Sunday’s Palestinian terror attack have been identified.

The two Israelis who were shot and murdered by a Palestinian terrorist in Jerusalem on Sunday were named as Officer Yosef Kirma, 29, and Levana Malihi, 60, both from Jerusalem.

Malihi was shot while waiting for the tram, and Kirma was killed in the gun battle with the terrorist. Both were rushed to the hospital and doctors fought to save their lives, but to no avail.

Malihi, a mother of three and grandmother of six, retired in 2010 after working 30 years at the Knesset – Israel’s parliament. “Veteran workers remember a very warm woman, loved by all, dedicated, caring and modest,” according to a statement by a Knesset spokesperson.

Kirma is survived by a wife, who he married just six months ago, his parents and two brothers.

He received a citation this year after foiling a terror attack in December. While on patrol in the capital, he noticed a suspicious individual around a kindergarten. After confronting the suspect, Kirma discovered he was carrying a knife. The apprehended Palestinian admitted he intended to commit a terror attack.

Kirma will be buried later in the day.

An initial investigation revealed that the terrorist was supposed to report to the Israeli prison system today and start a four month term for assaulting an officer.

He has served a previous term after being convicted of assault, illegal military training and arson. He was affiliated with the Hamas terror organization.

The terrorist was killed on the scene of his attack.
