Arab charged with helping Hamas fund terrorism

Hamas is making continuous efforts to spread terrorism and fund its activities in Judea and Samaria in addition to its terror network in Gaza.

An Arab from Jerusalem was indicted on Sunday on charges of working for the Hamas terror organization and helping it fund terrorism.

According to an indictment presented at the Jerusalem District Court, Seif Al-Din Abed Al-Nabi, 39, maintained a relationship with Zakariyah Najib, a Hamas terrorist.

Najib, who served time in Israeli prisons for his involvement in the 1994 kidnapping of IDF soldier Nachshon Wachsman, was released in the 2011 Shalit deal and was deported.

The two met in Istanbul, Turkey, during Al-Nabi’s business trip to the country. Najib requested that he transfer funds to families of Hamas terrorists killed during acts of terrorism.

The two met on several occasions, and Al-Nabi transferred the total sum of $25,000 to Hamas families, and by doing so supported acts of terrorism against Israelis.

Al-Nabi smuggled the cash on his body through various forms of concealment.

Al-Nabi was charged with the offenses of maintaining contact with a foreign agent and the material support of terrorism.
