Israeli security prevents Palestinian stabbing attack

Israeli security forces were successful in preventing another Palestinian terror attack over the weekend.

A female Palestinian terrorist attempted to stab Israeli security forces during an attack at the Qalandiya security checkpoint, just north of Jerusalem, on Friday.

The woman, holding a knife, approached security forces manning the position.

Shot in the leg after ignoring orders to stop, she was lightly injured and taken to a Jerusalem hospital for treatment.

No Israelis were harmed in the incident.

The Qalandiya crossing has been the site of numerous Palestinian terror attacks over the past year.

The role of female Palestinian terrorists has grown markedly in the most recent wave of terror attacks.

This incident was the latest in a long series of Palestinian terror attacks which have plagued Israelis over the course of more than a year, claiming the lives of 41 victims and wounding over 550.
