By: World Israel News StaffDefense Minister Avigdor Liberman lashed out at European countries for criticizing Israel while ignoring Iran’s repression of Instagram celebrity and dancer Maedeh Hojabri.“Europeans let themselves stick their noses in Israel’s affairs and how we protect our borders,” Liberman tweeted.“But they have no qualms providing money to an ayatollah regime that incarcerates an 18-year-old girl whose only crime was to dance without a headscarf.”Maedeh Hojabri is an Iranian Instagram celebrity and dancer who was arrested by the Islamic Republic’s police.“If they [the Europeans] were a little more truthful about real breaches of human rights and a bit less hypocritical they would cut ties with the oppressive and murderous Khamenai regime until it is overthrown,” the defense minister stated. In response to Hojabri’s arrest, Iranians began posting videos of themselves dancing on social media.Iranian forces have shut down Hojabri’s Instagram account and forced her to express remorse on state television.Clips of Hojabri dancing to Iranian pop music and Western tunes like DJ Snake’s “Let me love you” and Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” have gone viral both inside Iran and outside the Islamic Republic.Meanwhile, another Iranian woman was reportedly sentence to 20 years in prison for removing her headscarf in protest in December.Shapark Shajarizadeh, 42, posted on her personal website that she was jailed for “opposing the compulsory hijab” and “waving a white flag of peace in the street.”AP said there was no immediate comment from Iranian officials.
