Noa Argamani praises NVIDIA’s support of boyfriend Avinatan Or during Hamas captivity

Former hostage Noa Argamani has written a public message thanking NVIDIA for what she described as extraordinary support for her boyfriend, Avinatan, during the more than two years he was held captive by Hamas.

In a message shared this week, Argamani said Avinatan began his first job at NVIDIA in early 2022, a move she said “would later prove to be one of the best decisions he ever made.”

Less than two years later, he was kidnapped during the Oct. 7 attack and held in Gaza until his recent release.

Throughout his captivity, Argamani wrote, NVIDIA continued to treat Avinatan not just as an employee but as part of a family.

“People who had never even met him held signs with his picture every single day,” she wrote.

“Every meeting began with a mention of him and a call for his return, and they even kept his desk corner untouched until the day he came back.”

According to Argamani, support came from across the company, including teammates, his direct manager, employees at NVIDIA’s Israel site and senior executives.

She said the efforts were carried out with the full backing of NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, who she wrote remained in direct contact with the family and checked in on them repeatedly.

“NVIDIA never forgot Avinatan, who had only worked there for a year and a half before he was kidnapped,” Argamani wrote.

She described the company’s actions as an example of “true mutual responsibility,” saying that even during a period of professional success and prosperity, the company stood by its employee and his family.

“Seeing how the company stood by him the entire time shows us what real responsibility looks like,” she wrote. “They stood by their employee and fought alongside us.”

Argamani concluded her message with a note of gratitude, thanking NVIDIA and its employees for their unwavering support during Avinatan’s captivity.
