A Palestinian terrorist stabbed and moderately wounded an Israeli civilian in Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday evening.

The terrorist stabbed the victim, in his 60s, several times in his upper body and then fled the scene, leaving his knife behind.

Israeli security forces sealed off the Old City and launched a manhunt for the terrorist, who was captured.

He was identified as an 18-year-old resident of the Judea and Samaria region. Police said in a statement that he admitted during his initial questioning that his actions were motivated by terrorism.

Israeli forces arrested another Palestinian suspected of being the terrorist’s accomplice.

The victim was taken to Shaare Zedek hospital in the capital, were he underwent several procedures to treat his wounds. The hospital announced Tuesday morning that he was in stable condition.

This incident was the latest in a long series of Palestinian terror attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of the past seven months, claiming the lives of 33 victims and wounding over 400.
