This saves lives.”Gallant’s remarks come the day after a Hezbollah missile struck a home in the Haifa suburb of Kiryat Bialik, wounding three people, causing extensive damages to several other houses, and sparking fires. His comments suggest that Israel is gearing up for the possibility of widespread attacks targeting residential areas throughout Israel. As Israel ramps up its attacks against the terror group, Hezbollah has threatened to fire its missiles, rockets, and explosive drones deeper into Israeli territory. For the past 11 months, Hezbollah has launched near-daily salvos against Israeli communities and military assets, but the majority of those attacks were restricted to areas near the border with Lebanon.“The resilience of the home front is the key that allows the IDF to fight, to gain achievements and to harm the enemy, and this has been going on for about a year and has been done in a very impressive way,” Gallant said. The defense minister reiterated that enabling the return of displaced northerners to their homes was one of the key factors behind Israel increasing the intensity of its military campaign against Hezbollah.“We are deepening our attacks in Lebanon, the sequence of operations continues, and will continue until we achieve our goal of returning the residents of the north safely to their homes,” Gallant concluded.
