“This is a historic day,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated upon US President Donald Trump’s official recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. “Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people for 3000 years” proclaimed Netanyahu, as he recalled Israel’s deep biblical connection to the city.
