Two Arab terrorists stabbed a 19-year-old soldier in the face near the Gush Etzion junction in Judea on Tuesday afternoon, moderately wounding him.

The victim was rushed to Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem with facial wounds. Security forces shot and killed the assailants.

“Soldiers from the Shimshon Brigade dealing with security noticed two suspects,” the IDF stated. “When approached for questioning, the terrorists stabbed one of soldiers… Forces responded with fire to neutralize the threat.”

A number of other acts of terror were attempted the same day, albeit unsuccessfully. Alert security forces in Jerusalem and Hebron thwarted two potentially fatal incidents on Tuesday, having noticed the terrorists who were apparently on the way to carry out attacks.

Also on Tuesday, police in the morning caught two young Palestinian women with knives in their backpacks in Hebron. Asked to comply with routine inspection at the security checkpoint near the Cave of the Patriarchs, they refused and instead announced that they had come to “free Palestine.”

In Jerusalem, a policeman caught two  Palestinian teenagers with an axe and a knife in their bags.
