Huckabee to Trump: “You did not seek this moment. This moment sought YOU!’

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee gave implied encouragement to US President Donald Trump on Tuesday to take a more active role in the conflict between Iran and Israel through his Truth Social posts.

Huckabee, an evangelical Christian, wrote, “Mr. President, God spared you in Butler, PA, to be the most consequential president in a century – maybe ever. The decisions on your shoulders I would not want to be made by anyone else.”

Huckabee was referencing an assassination attempt against Trump during a campaign rally, from which he emerged with minor injuries after a bullet grazed his ear.

“You have many voices speaking to you, Sir, but there is only ONE voice that matters. HIS voice. I am your appointed servant in this land and am available for you, but I do not try to get in your presence often because I trust your instincts,” he continued.

“No President in my lifetime has been in a position like yours. Not since Truman in 1945,” Huckabee wrote, referring to the US President at the end of World War II and who recognized the State of Israel in 1948.

He concluded, “You did not seek this moment. This moment sought YOU! It is my honor to serve you!”

Huckabee wrote the post amid whirling speculation over whether and to what extent the US will get involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran.

Trump responded by praising Huckabee, calling him a “Pastor, Politician, Ambassador, and Great Person!”

Some expect Trump to take a more hawkish position since he rebuked isolationist ally Tucker Carlson in a Truth Social post. “Somebody please explain to kooky Tucker Carlson that IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON,” the president wrote.

Additional clues include Trump’s early departure from the G7 conference, saying that he and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had to return to Washington to address “important matters.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump posted a message to Iranian civilians urging them to immediately evacuate Tehran.
