Police arrest Arab man suspected of murdering pregnant wife

Israel’s police arrested a man from the Arab town of Tamra in northern Israel on Tuesday on the suspicion he killed his pregnant wife.

The victim, Amana Yassin, 35, was a mother of two and in the advanced stages of her pregnancy. She was found dead with stab wounds to her upper body.

Her husband, 46, is the primary suspect in her murder. He is said to have a history of domestic violence.

The victim’s body was taken for an autopsy.

Israel’s NRG new site repots that the suspect has a history of mental illness.

In related news, an Arab resident of Nazareth died of a head injury in Rambam hospital in Haifa after being shot in the head in a crime related incident.

The police launched an investigation and have placed a gag order on the incident.

The Arab sector in Israel suffers from a comparatively high crime rate, and 42 Arabs, of them five women, have been killed in criminal incidents since the beginning of 2016.
